SERGIO PASCOLO ARCHITECTS is an international architecture and urban design practice working in the renovation of existing buildings, private homes, residential development, public buildings and urban regeneration in Italy and Germany, as well as a number of projects in China and Africa.
Its size allows the founder to remain directly involved in every project, and its strength is built on four decades of work across all scales, from interiors and individual buildings to urban visions.
Founded in Milan, it has also operated in Hamburg and, since 2006, has been based in Venice, in Carlo Scarpa’s former studio on the Rio Marin.
The team of architects and urban planners develops renovation projects, feasibility studies and consultancy services, final and detailed design, construction supervision, strategic plans, masterplanning and urban visions, responding to complex briefs on any scale, whilst integrating social, sustainable and ecological values at every stage of the process. The overarching aim is to define physical spaces that enhance the quality of life for those who use them.
NETWORK
Each project is shaped by an established network of professional partners, structural and mechanical engineers, landscape architects, lighting and acoustic designers, whose exceptional expertise informs the work from the first sketch.

TOTAL HOUSING is an exhibition that aims at illustrating the design research on housing in its twofold and always interrelated significance of individual dwelling space and civic and social space of the city in an ongoing dialogue between interior and exterior. The research follows three directions: housing design and its space availability, the building’s configuration with the possible combination of residence and other functions, and finally the study of building types to define forms of urban space that promote and enable social life and sustainable lifestyles. The inspirations for design research are flexibility, proximity, mixed functions, compactness, and cost effectiveness. Issues and opportunities include projects for districts, urban projects, building projects, housing and individual homes. The dual role of projects in the urban context is such that “housing projects” are even those buildings that host other functions such as cultural and educational buildings where study, performance or exhibition are art and moments of living.
